SALEM UK: Releases new single “Meteorite” from upcoming album Outer Limits

British hard rock and heavy metal band Salem UK has released their new single, “Meteorite”, offering a glimpse into their upcoming album, Outer Limits, which will be out on November 29, 2024 via Rude Awakening Records.

Inspired by the long-standing tradition of Hull Fair, Europe’s largest travelling fair dating back to 1279, “Meteorite” combines the band’s classic heavy sound with the energetic spirit of the carnival. The track takes listeners on a musical ride, blending powerful riffs with anthemic rock elements.

Adrian Jenkinson (bass) shared insights into the new single, saying, “Initially, I thought the heavy main riff meant we were going to write a heavy metal tune, but it turned into more of a rock anthem. The second half really pushes along. The song is named after a fair ride, and the lyrics are about people’s interpretation of the lights and stars they see in the sky. It might be a saviour – or it might be a bomb!”

Simon Saxby (vocals) added with a touch of humour: “There’s a Rolling Stones vibe going on at the beginning, which is surprising for us because we have never married supermodels or taken any illegal substances.” Meanwhile, Jonny Hirons (guitar) noted, “When I was introduced to the verse riff, it gave me a kind of Run to the Hills vibe, while the intro riff had an early Metallica Motorbreath feel.”
